Moraira

MORAIRA

Moraira is a first class tourist village with fantastic facilities and services, but with a small appearance, without high-rise blocks and with a lot of pine trees. This green nature setting continues to the sea, where the green and azure blue colours meet each other.

Enjoy the more than 80 restaurants with nearly infinite gastronomic backgrounds and specialties. There are also several caterers where delicious dishes can be taken home. The cafés and terraces are open all year round and always crowded. There are stores with top quality fashion, shoes, jewelry and daily necessities. During the frequent local events there are many stalls with regional delicacies and souvenirs. Moraira has a luxury marina with all necessary facilities.

BEACHES

Moraira has five miles of coastline and three beaches of fine sand, embedded in a rocky coast. The beach slopes down slowly into the sea, so the beaches are safe for small children. The sea beneath the rocks is fascinating for snorkeling or diving. Most beaches are guarded in the summer and there are foot showers, toilets and the possibility of putting a boat in the water.

PLAYA DEL PORTET

A narrow beach flanked by a small-scale promenade with terraces. The picturesque Playa del Portet is enclosed in a gently sloping bay. Ideal for playing with a ball or on air mattresses because mostly there is no wind in this sheltered location. Drift off to sea will not happen quickly. It is also an excellent anchor bay for sailing yachts.

PLAYA L’ AMPOLLA

The largest Beach, directly below the Castell de Moraira, with easy car parking nearby. A small creek runs across the beach into the sea and is a great game attraction for small children. There is a restaurant on the beach.

PLAYA PLATGETES

Further along the coast is Platgetes. Platgetes consists of two beaches, one is sandy and the other is rocky with an abundance of small fish. Both beaches are connected by a promenade. There is a good restaurant next to the beach.

PLAYA L’ ANDRAGO

On the most southern point of the coast of Moraira is the last beach: the pebble beach l ' Andragó. The bays and inlets at the edges of the beach are an excellent location for diving and snorkelling. l ' Andragó is a very quiet beach and the perfect location for an afternoon of relax.

In the summer some beaches have facilities such as jet skis, sailboats, canoes and kayak's for rent. There is a school for scuba diving.
